Quick tips for a slower start to 2026

Hope you are well & Happy New Year.

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading my Women’s Wellness Newsletter this year and picked up some practical, supportive tools for living well.

The health, fitness and wellness space is genuinely fascinating right now.

We’re seeing a clear move away from the old “New Year, New You”narrative — the same resolutions repeated every January, often unobtainable, unsustainable, and rooted in the idea that we constantly need to fix ourselves.

Instead, many people are choosing a slower, more intentional start to the year.

Wellness-led classes, mindful movement, strength, mobility, Pilates, walking and recovery are taking centre stage — practices designed to be sustained long term, not just endured for a few weeks.

Rather than drastic diets or signing up to overpriced gyms, more and more midlife women are taking a different approach — one focused on consistency, wellbeing, confidence, and feeling strong and capable in their bodies.

And honestly? It’s a really exciting shift to witness

We’re also seeing powerful changes in the language of health and fitness.

Words like longevity and wellness are now front and centre — and every trend report points to the same thing:
People are craving community, not quick fixes.

More midlife women are stepping away from alcohol because it no longer serves them, and instead seeking out like-minded people who are on a similar journey.
It’s less about extremes, and more about connection, consistency, and feeling good for the long term.

This movement towards shared experiences, supportive spaces, and sustainable habits is shaping the future of fitness — and it’s incredibly exciting to be part of

And of course, we’re right in the middle of a Pilates explosion.
Pilates studios are opening all over the country, creating beautiful, welcoming spaces to move, train, and connect. Community Pilates classes are reporting busy weeks and full bookings, which says everything about where the industry is heading.

Quick tips for a slower start to 2026

Before rushing into big nutrition changes, focus on the basics:

  • Prioritise sleep
  • Regulate your nervous system
  • Actively manage stress
  • Slow down and practise mindful eating
  • Reduce screen time and social media scrolling

Then look at nutrition:
Back to basics — eat the rainbow, add more protein, and keep things simple.

Everything becomes easier when you start with the foundations and build small, daily habits that support your body and nervous system.

I’ll continue sharing weekly wellness tips and tools, and I’d love your feedback.
